Mt. Baldy Family Ski Area - British Columbia

Mt. Baldy Family Ski Area
Okanagan Powder

Mt. Baldy Family Ski Area is located high above the well-known south Okanagan Valley, in the Okanagan highlands. This home of the 1985 British Columbia Winter Games is only 40 minutes from the community of Oliver, B.C., and 45 minutes from Osoyoos, B.C.

The Village of Mt. Baldy is a growing community of 95 privately owned cabins and a 12 unit condominium complex, offering the luxury of complete ski-in and ski-out accommodations.

This family ski area has two T-bar lifts. The main lift, Baldy T-bar, offers 1,460 ft. vertical with access to 11 diverse ski runs. The Mckinney T-bar offers 450 ft. vertical with access to three runs and the popular snowboard park and half-pipe.

However, Mt. Baldy now installed a secondhand double-chair lift (purchased from Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island). The 2000 Ski Season will see the new chair fully operational, so there will be one T-bar servicing the smaller hill and a smooth ride on a chair to the top.

For the members of the family that enjoy cross-country skiing there is a variety of ungroomed, but well marked trails available.

For the skaters in the family Mt. Baldy offers day and night time skating. No charge, just bring your skates. Other facilities at Mt. Baldy include a day lodge, complete with C.S.I.A. ski school (Nancy Green Ski League Team); rental shop; cafeteria, and lounge.

Mt. Baldy also offers a reciprocal program, which allows season pass holders to ski for half-price at other ski areas. Check with the ski area manager for details.

If you are a skier craving that "Okanagan Powder" you and your family will discover one of the best kept secrets in the Okanagan Valley.
